Dunholm
The Grassy Knoll
Located at the southeast of Calenwood, Dunholm was once the picture of liveliness and commerce. Aysha and Ayane ran a tailoring shop that attracted a great deal of business, as good dresses were hard to come by in those days (one had to go to Pendulis, and it is so easy to get lost there). Persephone ran the local tavern and offered a finer selection of spirits than Bill. The town was indisputably magical, and there were rumors of a room with many windows, each of which would transport you to a different area of Karchan.
However, harder times came upon Dunholm, and for a time it was inaccessible to most travelers. Years later, it reanimated itself once more, but it was no longer the countryside paradise it used to be; run-down, on the outskirts of Karchanian civilization, it was a skid row that attracted vagrants, addicts, and a woman with a nose for money. As the closest settlement to Calenwood Forest, the pack of werewolves that moved into the southern half of the forest came to regard Dunholm as part of their own territory. Sabrielle bought an old tavern from the pack, the Knoll Top Inn, on the condition the condemned building would be renovated and as part of an agreement of friendship between the Calenwood Pack and the fiery redhead. The renovations never came to pass but she ran it successfully. A massive flood hit the area, leaving the inn in dire straights. Sabrielle and her employees have long since moved to Crocodile Cove, leaving the area tranquil.
The flood waters have since receded, and the Alpha of the pack has taken back custody of the inn. He has yet to do anything with it, however plans of a steak house and other suggestions have been offered. For now, Dunholm remains quiet and sparsely populated, but heavily watched by the werewolves as the eastern border of their lands.
Aside from the werewolves, the town of Dunholm is generally regarded as the responsibility of the Rangers of Karchan. They are the guardians of travelers, after all, and Dunholm forms the current eastern boundary of the land.
