Dragon

Land of Karchan

Hestia

High Cleric: Possibly Aurican?
Symbol: A Golden Coin
Animals: Treasure-hide dragons, raccoons, and jeweled hummingbirds.

Born a demigoddes as the child of Obsidian and his third wife, Kandy, Hestia later ascended to godhood with some assistance from her Evil father. She took on the title that Obsidian had abandoned in his ever-growing quest to seize power and become the ultimate force of Evil in the lands of Karchan. Thus, the Goddess of Greed emerged.

Lacking the lust for power that her predecessor possessed, this goddess has eyes for gold and riches. Thus, she is primarily concerned with acquiring wealth and encouraging the ill-gotten gain of the same. This makes her a key patroness of thieves, pirates, con artists, and the like.

Her constant ache for shiny tribute reflects the other aspect that Obsidian abandoned, having also been the god of Evil Dragons. While not claiming to be a deity of dragons, evil or otherwise, Hestia has a known liking for those of the metallic varieties. Gold, silver, platinum, bronze, and all dragons of the sort are sacred to her. It is rumored that Aurican, a golden dragon, is her high priest. She has not seen fit to confirm or deny at this time.

Her other sacred animals include the natural-born thieves, raccoons; and the jeweled hummingbirds that guard her treasure-filled garden.

She has been known to retain close ties to her sister, Rhianneth, in spite of that goddess being the polar opposite of Hestia's domain.

Those who wish to follow this goddess may identify themselves as being part of the "Cult of Hestia," a term which simply shows allegiance and pledges offerings of one's gain. Beyond showering this deity with dishonestly-obtained wealth, there are no known religious rites or ceremonies associated with her. Those who have come to know their goddess well may sometimes be identified by a distinctive golden coin that is worn around their necks.
