The Election Process

• An Election Official will be determined by popular consensus.
  
• One month before the end of the of the mayor's term nominations will be taken for the position and the current Mayor will be able to announce his decision on if he or she would like to go up for re-election.
  
• Two weeks before the end of the term, voting will begin. Only citizens of Crocodile Cove will be able to take participate in the voting and will have two weeks to submit their vote. Ballots must be cast within the town hall (The Quagmire).
  
• The results of the election will be announced at the end of two weeks by the Election Official.
  
  

Election Dates
Elections will occur twice a year! Once in January and once in June!
January Election Dates
Election Official Nominations Accepted: December 19th - December 26th
Election Official Voting: December 27th - January 3rd
Nominations for Mayor/Ordinance Proposals Accepted: January 4th -- January 18th
Voting period: January 19th -- February 2nd

June Election Dates
Election Official Nominations Accepted: May 19th - May 26th
Election Official Voting: May 27th - June 3rd
Nominations/Petitions Accepted: June 4th -- June 18th
Voting period: June 19th - July 3rd

Who Can Vote
There are a few requirements that a person must meet in order to be able to vote in the cove. They are:

• Crocodile Cove must be a voter's primary residence. As in, you don't just work at the cove. You actually live there and you don't claim anywhere else is your primary residence.
• You must have claimed Crocodile Cove as your primary residence prior to the start of the election. Yes, from the very moment election official nominations are accepted.
• Voters cannot hold office in other cities.
• Voters must be at least 18 years of age.
  

Voting Cap: No player can make up more than 15% of the vote. There are currently 52 characters who can vote so...52 x .15 = 7.80. We will round up. Currently 8 characters per player can vote.

  • Due to the extended period of time Velia was Mayor of the Cove and the lack of desire to hold new elections, the government was revamped to better suit the needs of the Cove.
