Khneo

WEATHER AND CLIMATE Khneo is a tropical region year round, the weather carefully maintained by its matron goddess Baymeth and her daughters. The only time there is ever a chill to the air is on Thursdays. Every Thursday it rains and this rain comes with a faint chill to it. Up in the mountains at night, it has been known to get somewhat chilly as well. The weather is odd.

WILDLIFE Khneo is home to many magical creatures, but the most important seems to be the unicorns. They roam throughout the Starlight Wood, and seem to be particularly fond of Mount Starlight. There is also a Mermaid Pool where sea folk like to gather on the westernmost coast. Fairies dot the area that like to give travelers much needed or wanted information. The most famous of the Khneo fairies is Celinette, after which the local inn was named. In the Starlight Wood, a drider lives. This creature is dangerous, but can usually be avoided with a little bit of luck. She is a rare sight these days.

POLITICS AND GOVERNMENT The area is owned, operated, and ruled by the five witches of Khneo. They are the daughters of Baymeth, the goddess who created this land for her followers. Juniper is the 'leader' and the strongest, and she deals with all real estate matters. For more information about Khneo's storyline, go to the Khneo Library and read about the star. BARRIER Khneo is protected by a powerful barrier that Baymeth placed over her promised land, which is maintained by the witches' presence. It removes all mal-intent when someone enters. It makes it where it will not even occur to anyone to do anything bad while there. Thusly, there is no crime or danger whatsoever other than the drider. Keep in mind that I will not allow anything bad to happen in Khneo because this area is supposed to be protected by a Goddess and her daughters. Any attempts to circumvent that ruling will not be honored and will result in being banished from Khneo.

REAL ESTATE Juniper of Spirit is the witch that handles the real estate matters. There are townhouses to be rented for one thousand gold a month, homes to be purchased, and businesses to own. The way that real estate works in Khneo is slightly different. The witch's sponsor businesses and give loans to those seeking to live there, and in return, what they ask is if the business goes under or you decide to move, because they gave you the money initially, the property automatically goes back to the witches. They will not allow anyone to pass on their business without their approval either, as any and everyone living or working in Khneo must first be approved by them. It is a complicated setup but it works.
