Seraph Scale

Introduction

Seraph Scales are dark serpent shifters created by Tyvarliek, the God of Sacrifice, to represent his ideals and power. They are deeply devoted to him and The Maleficus, serving as his loyal followers.

Becoming a Seraph Scale is a serious choice that takes great bravery. It requires a significant personal sacrifice, reflecting Tyvarliek's nature. Anyone, regardless of gender, can seek this path if they are drawn to the fold of darkness and its teachings.

Seraph Scales take on different roles, whether as Crimson Paladins, taking up a shield, or as clerics who spread Tyvarliek's word. Whatever their role, all Seraph Scales are united in their purpose to serve and embody the will of their god.

Appearance

Whatever the appearance the would-be Seraph Scale had before, will be dramatically changed after their rebirth. Their skin turns soft blue and their hair turns pale. Their eyes become silver and they grow long fangs that are longer than a vampire's that make puncturing the skin easier. They have a giant, blue serpent form with two sets of wings, always in a shade of blue that matches their scales. On their humanoid form, these wings are on their back, and a set on their ankles, all fully functional to aid them in maneuvering easily in the air.

Creation/Unmaking

In order to become a Seraph Scale, you must seek out a cleric of Tyvarliek. Given one of his spheres of influence is sacrifice, the cleric will tell the would be candidate to climb onto the altar and sacrifice themselves to Tyvarliek with a sacrificial thorn.

If they do not die after 3 days, with significant injuries, they are reborn and altered completely. If they die prior to that, then they were weak and unworthy and have met a permanent end.

Seraph Scales can also be unmade and returned to what they were before, but this tends to only happen if they defect. They can also do this to themselves by using a sacrificial thorn on themselves, reversing the sacrifice they made to become a Seraph Scale in the first place. Both methods can cause death, depending on the circumstances.

Abilities

Seraph Scales have a few abilities.

• A gaze that can petrify people, creatures, or things.
• Breathing toxic fire.
• Enhanced agility.
• Flight.
• Giant winged serpent form.
• Venomous Bite.

Procreating

They can, but their offspring will never be a Seraph Scale. It will be whatever they were before mixed with whatever the other parent is.
