Land of Karchan

The Fatal Attraction

The pendant seems to be active right now, the being within almost restless.
Calzier stares at the pendant.
When you speak to the pendant hanging around your neck, it emits a soft shower of mist that is almost intoxicating and uplifting. It feels so good and positive, and the feeling lasts for quite some time.
Klyavrite tells [to you] : Speak...
Calzier is lifts the pendant in his hands to view it, "What.. in Kurí?" His brows scrunch in confusion at the sudden pleasant feeling and lays back in his bed.
Calzier jolts!
You tell [to Klyavrite] : "Did you just...?!"
Klyavrite tells [to you] : I did, child. What is it that you require of me?
You tell [to Klyavrite] : "...Um... To know why a pendant is speaking to me.. and whether or not I have officially lost my mind. That would be nice to know."
Klyavrite tells [to you] : I am bound to the gemstone Klyavrite. The necklace you wear is imbued with power that controls me. What is it that you desire? I may be able to help...
Calzier stares for a long time at the gemstone, scrutinizing it.
You tell [to Klyavrite] : ".... What is the catch? Nothing comes this easily. No offense." Klyavrite tells [to you] : I require something in return, typically something very small. *The longer you talk to the pendant, the more you seem to want to, as it if possesses a drawing effect*
Calzier tilts his head.
You tell [to Klyavrite] : "If its only something small then..." *there is clear curiosity in his voice* "Alright,... can you get rid of the man who enslaved me in the past? I know that bastard is still looking for me... for his sick games."
Klyavrite tells [to you] : Consider it done...
You say : "Really? Even killing a man?"
You say : "You really know to make a guy question his choice of words."
The being within the pendant is dormant right now.
You sigh.

[Beside the Toll Bridge over Snake River]

Calzier has no money given that he just now decided to leave the safety of the castle so he spent as much time in the bookstore in Khneo as possible to finish the book before finally heading toward his home for the time being. The mote is still uncomfortable, even on his lonesome, though it is easier on him than when around other strange faces. Considering it was his first time actually trying to go between places, Calzier makes sure to stay close to the river in case he becomes disoriented. He is not far from the castle, by now. For a split second, as if he had blinked slowly, the vision in both his eyes goes black. Calzier jumps and his brows scrunch tightly together. He rubs his eyes, "..the hell.." and then blinks a few times, then looks around himself.

NamelessNPC 's familiar voice calls out to the mote before him, chuckling afterward. "I've been wondering where you got off to. Nice to see you, Calzier. Now please, come back with me. Don't make a fuss or I'll be forced to scuff you up a little, just like old times." The man smirks, though he does partially wonder about the mote's eyes. Did he get dust in them? That just makes this easier. Calzier's tormentor approaches him at a leisurely gait, when suddenly, he feels as though he is held back by a forcefield. The expression on his face morphs from easygoing to frustration, and he yells at the mote from where he stands. "How are you doing this? It won't stop me from collecting you again. It's a fruitless endeavor, trying to hold me back like this." Then a mysterious figure billows into sight like a collection of shadows, clad in soft blue garb and floating. The being's arms stretch to different sides, and Calzier's tormentor is suddenly ripped in half from the bottom up. The sound is garbled, bones cracking, muscles shredding, and the man's screams only add to the gory scene as blood gushes and squirts out of his body. He has just enough time to look Calzier in the eye from a distance with abject terror before both sides crumple to the ground in separate directions. Klyavrite speaks in a smooth whisper, "Our deal is complete... " before dissipating into nothingness, leaving nothing but the twitching carcass of Calzier's former master in his wake.

Calzier freezes when he hears that familiar voice, his head veering in its direction. He could not believe it, he wanted to deny the request would fail but it had. His master approaches. The mote's nerves fry with his overwhelming, crippling sense of fear, and even if he has the ability to fend himself, he could not. He froze for just a moment, as his body and mind try to recover from the almost literal heart attack, before backpedaling and stumbling over his own feet into the ground. He scrambles to his feet again quickly and aims to make a break for it, but his master's words confuse him. Holding him back? Calzier turns around to see what is going on, where he normally would not, to see the abusive and torturous man frozen in place. Then, a strange figure appears out of nowhere arms outstretched at either side. For a moment, Calzier's form screams at him to run away, the desire is there, but something within him holds him in awe and curiosity. He is rewarded with the screams of horror and the grotesque tearing of his master's body uncleanly in two. The dots in his head connect. The deal between himself and the being---now before him---is being completed. And in such a horrific but deeply contenting way. For once, his old master gets what he deserves--a painful death in a manner as gut-twisting and frightening as his own tastes in torture. Calzier finds himself grinning at the sight and tickled by the victory implied by the sounds, then moreso at the mess left behind that reminded him of the dead man's own victims as they died. "Thank you." The mote states to the figure as it dissipates. His hand clasps around the pendant around his neck, bringing it to his lips to quickly kiss it. "Thank you, so much.." His whole being felt freed and invigorated, in fact... he decides to go back to Khneo for the night, smiling like a man in love the entire way there.
