The Knighting of Cascade Agnarsson

PLACE: Ancestral Hall of the Knights of Karchan

DATE: 2/1/2017

[guild]Elsie: Cascade, are you busy?

[guild]Cascade: Not currently. *clears her throat* Is this about my vote?

[guild]Elsie: Yes, it is. You've passed. If you can come to the Ancestral Hall, you can be Knighted.

[guild]Cascade: *gasp* Can I please bring my mate?

Cascade gasps audibly.

Kaelen says [to you] : Did you get beckoned?

Cascade nods at Kaelen and squeals. "I passed my vote! She's asked me to go to the Ancestral Hall."

[guild]Elsie: Of course. Bring anyone you'd like.

Kaelen grins.

You hear a distant voice and disappear in a flash of blue light . You appear at the castle, carried by that flash blue light .

Cascade appears in the Ancestral Hall, holding Kaelen's hand and grinning like the devil.

Elsie is waiting on one side of the room, near the pool. As her gaze finds the new arrivals, she smiles and beckons them closer. "Good evening, both of you."

Kaelen appears a bit tousled, as he was dragged here from snuggling under a blanket with Cascade. Melting snow sticks to his clothes, though it soon turns to wet spots in the warmth of the ancestral hall. He tips a nod to Elsie, "Evening."

Cascade walks briskly up to Elsie and hugs her tightly, overwhelmed with happiness. "Sorry, I'm just...so happy. It wasn't easy to get here, but I'm so happy that everyone has seen the good I've done and will continue to do. I was worried when I got put up to vote because I haven't been the most visible, but I have been doing good things. Sorry to babble, I'm just...so happy to have attained my goal." The siren steps back so that she is a couple of feet away from Elsie, petite in stature. She squeezes Kaelen's hand, maintaining her bright expression.

Elsie blinks at Cascade, a bit surprised by the show of affection. Although this is uncommon for her, she does not appear too put off by it. Instead, she just smiles in return. "You've worked hard," she assures the other. "I have every confidence you will honor the Knights and Karn as you continue to serve the people of Karchan. Now..." The Knight takes a bit of a step back as well, so that as she draws her sword it will not swing too close to anyone. "Have you decided upon your shield and your symbol?"

Elsie wields a gleaming, official, Knights of Karn sword with her left hand. Kaelen grins brightly, watching Cascade's show of affection as well as her babbling - his Snowbunny was so cute when she got excited. He squeezes her hand once she returns to his side, remaining silent and watching as the knighting is about to commence.

Cascade nods and releases her hold on Kaelen's hand. "Yes. I want to be The Porcelain Knight, Shield of Prudence. I put a lot of thought into everything I do, and porcelain is made rather than found naturally. I may have been created, but porcelain suits me because it is white, a symbol of purity and goodness." She clears her throat. "Sorry for babbling again. Porcelain Knight, Shield of Prudence." The banshee places a hand on her stomach, trying to quell the movement of the nervous butterflies in her midsection. She felt like she was walking on air.

Elsie chuckles softly, and nods to the squire before she says, "All right, please kneel."

Cascade kneels.

Elsie briefly clears her throat before she lays the flat of her sword on Cascade's right shoulder. "Do you, Cascade, pledge your fealty to Karn in his continuing battle against the powers of Evil and the destruction of all that he has made? Do you swear to protect the innocent, to serve the people, and to be diligent in practicing the virtues of Knighthood?"

Cascade nods her head. "Always. I mean, I do. Yes. " Her face becomes hot with embarrassment. What was she supposed to say?

Kaelen remains silent and watches his mate, so proud of her. He might just squirt a tear, but he has to retain that manly image.

Elsie lifts the sword from Cascade's right shoulder, then briefly touches it to her left before she lifts the sword vertically upward between herself and the kneeling Knight. "Then rise, Dame Cascade, the Porcelain Knight and holder of the Shield of Prudence."

Cascade gasps and rises, a new knight. She looks overcome for a moment, but then hugs Elsie for the second time tonight. "I'll do the best that I can to serve as a Knight! Thank you so much for knighting me! I just, wow!" Cascade steps back and takes Kaelen's hands. "I'm going to head home now, but I look forward to my first day. Thanks again!" That said, she drags Kaelen home, super excited.

Elsie resheaths her sword before she bows formally to Cascade, then also to Kaelen. "Take care, both of you." Elsie disarms herself completely.

Kaelen captures Cascade before she drags him home, picking his snowbunny up and twirling her around. "Congratulations!" he says, kissing her deeply. "You earned it." Then he tosses a nod to Elsie. "Thank you, too."

Cascade giggles girlishly and heads home to Frosthaven.
