What is a Yeti?

A yeti is a rare and powerful shapeshifter, known for its ability to assume the form of a towering, shaggy creature covered in thick, usually white fur. In this form, it has a broad, muscular build and fierce, sharp teeth, which it uses to defend its territory. Despite their intimidating appearance, yetis are elusive beings, seldom encountered except in the most remote and frigid regions.

It is believed that these mysterious creatures originate from Frosthaven or the icy reaches of Tylaaeus, though a few are rumored to roam the coldest parts of Kuri. Their presence is often signaled by sudden snowstorms or eerie winds, as they have a natural command over ice, snow, and wind. This elemental power allows them to summon blizzards, shape snow into protective barriers, or freeze anything they touch.

Yetis possess incredible strength in both their natural and shifted forms, making them formidable against any who might challenge them. Their abilities aren?t limited to their physical prowess?they have an innate understanding of their icy domain, blending into the frozen landscape with ease. Rarely seen but often feared, yetis are a reminder of the untamed power of the frozen wilds. Legends speak of them as guardians of ancient, secretive lands, protecting their homes from intruders.

Personalities

Yetis are very territorial. They protect their land fiercely and don?t tolerate intruders. In their monster form, yetis are large, covered in thick fur, and have sharp teeth. They are aggressive in this form and just as aggressive in their human-like form. As people, most yetis are quick to argue and get angry easily. They are often short-tempered and ready to fight over small things. Because of this, many yetis prefer to live alone.

Around 90% of yetis act this way, but there are a few exceptions. Some yetis are more relaxed and in control of their tempers. These calmer yetis are rare and can sometimes fit in with others more easily. Still, most yetis have strong personalities that make them suited to life in harsh, isolated places. They are natural defenders of their icy homes, standing strong against anyone who challenges them.

Diet

Yetis are reported to have a mostly meat based diet. This may of course vary as there are reports that some have been known to hoard huckleberries.

Notable Yetis

• Ivo - A territorial yeti who follows Osnodon, and is in the employ of Drong de Bas as a result. He hates most people and is just shy of being mostly feral.
• Lysander - A Yeti living in Frosthaven who is part of the Snow Patrol, the local police force. He's one of the rare, calmer yetis that can blend in more easily with normal people. He can be surprisingly jovial.
